Exciting news from AC Transit: Bus zone violations are going down.
Parking violations in bus lanes and bus stops significantly slow down buses and make boarding dangerous — especially for riders with disabilities, who count on unobstructed bus stops so that bus operators can safely deploy wheelchair access ramps to the curb.
Here are the findings from AC Transit, shared in their recent press release:
“Recent data compiled in partnership with Hayden AI, the Bay Area-based developer of the camera technology, show a significant decline in violations.
- Bus-only lane citations fell from 1,241 in the second quarter of 2025 to 631 during the same period in 2026, a decline of nearly 50%.
- Bus stop citations also declined, falling from 5,207 in the second quarter of 2025 to 4,068 in the second quarter of 2026, a reduction of more than 20%.”
We are proud of our work with AC Transit for so many reasons: they are one of our longest-standing partners and many Hayden AI employees regularly ride AC Transit buses. Now we can add significant reductions in parking violations that obstruct transit to the list. Thank you AC Transit for working with us!
